ALBAWABA - US Presidential elect Donald Trump recently went viral across the internet after taking to Truth Social and promising Canada and its citizens that their taxes would be cut in half if the country joined the US as a 51st state. This sparked debate among social media users across several platforms.
In a lengthy Truth Social post, Trump discussed other international relations topics, including China's alleged control of the Panama Canal and the interest in taking over Denmark's Greenland since the US needs it for "National Security purposes."
Will Trump take over Canada? Christmas post sparks debate
Trump wrote, "Merry Christmas to all, including to the wonderful soldiers of China, who are lovingly, but illegally, operating the Panama Canal (where we lost 38,000 people in its building 110 years ago)."
He also threw some jabs at the "radical left lunatics" for trying to "obstruct the court system and the elections."
Trump's message to Canada's Justin Trudeau
The soon-to-be President of the United States issued a message to Canada's President Justin Trudeau covering topics about how the country will vastly improve if it joins the United States as a state, including lower taxes, business development, and the protection of military like "no other country anywhere in the World."
Trump wrote, "Also, to Governor Justin Trudeau of Canada, whose Citizens’ Taxes are far too high, but if Canada was to become our 51st State, their Taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their businesses would immediately double in size, and they would be militarily protected like no other Country anywhere in the World."
