ALBAWABA - The wife of President Jimmy Carter, former First Lady of the United States Rosalynn Carter, died aged 96 on Sunday, Nov. 19. However, will ex-president Donald Trump and his wife Melania attend the funeral?
According to Rosalynn Carter’s tribute page, the funeral service is expected to take place on Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2023. Earlier, The Carter Center said that Rosalynn died at 2:10 p.m. local time at her home in Plains, Georgia.
"She died peacefully, with family by her side," the center added. A three-day ceremony is expected to be held; On Monday, there will be a wreath-laying at Georgia Southwestern State University and repose at Jimmy Carter Presidential Library and Museum. Tuesday, will be the Carter Center departure ceremony and tribute service. And the funeral will take place on Wednesday.

On Truth Social, former US President Trump confirmed that he and Melania are going to attend the funeral of Rosalynn Carter, who was the first lady of the US from 1977 to 1981.
He wrote: "Melania and I join all Americans in mourning the loss of Rosalynn Carter."
Trump added: "She was a devoted First Lady, a great humanitarian, a champion for mental health, and a beloved wife to her husband for 77 years, President Carter." He maintained: "Over a life spanning nearly a century, Rosalynn Carter earned the admiration and gratitude of our entire nation."
Nonetheless, Melania Trump posted on Truth Social as well saying: "Rosalynn Carter leaves behind a meaningful legacy not only as First Lady but as a wife and mother. We will always remember her servant’s heart and devotion to her husband, family, and country. May she rest in peace."
