ALBAWABA - Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, son of the late Libyan president Muammar Gaddafi, was assassinated by unknown gunmen on Tuesday near the western city of Zintan, according to a statement by his cousin.
His cousin said Gaddafi was "martyred in the same track as his father, grandfather, and brothers," referencing the violent fates of family members during Libya’s 2011 uprising.
Where will Saif al-Islam Gaddafi be buried?

Journalists watch as the judges (unseen) question Saif al-Islam Gaddafi (C), the son of slain Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi, in a live broadcast from the western Libyan city of Zintan, inside a room in Tripoli on April 27, 2014.
Saif al-Islam Gaddafi will be buried on Friday in Bani Walid, a stronghold of a tribe that remained loyal to the colonel who ruled for more than 40 years, two sons of the late Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi confirmed on Thursday.
Mohammed Gaddafi, Saif al-Islam's half-brother, posted on Facebook that the date and time of the funeral were set "with the full agreement of the family." He maintained, "The funeral will be held on Friday after Friday prayers in the city of Bani Walid," in western Libya, about 200 kilometers south of Tripoli.
As for Saadi Gaddafi, he wrote via the X platform that the body of his brother Saif al-Islam will be buried "in Bani Walid at the (tribe) of Warfalla and next to the grave of his brother Khamis Muammar Gaddafi."
