ALBAWABA - Shortly following the killing of Israeli-Moldovan Rabbi Zvi Kogan, some Israeli accounts on social media accused Iran of being behind it.
Israeli Rabbi Zvi Kogan lost contact with his family on Thursday, November 21, 2024, and was missing for three days before his body was found about an hour and a half away from Dubai.
On Sunday, the authorities in the United Arab Emirates confirmed arresting three people with links to the killing of the Israeli-Moldovan Rabbi in the country.
In a post on X, the Israeli ministry wrote: "The UAE intelligence and security authorities have located the body of Zvi Kogan, who has been missing since Thursday, 21 November 2024."
"The Israeli mission in Abu Dhabi has been in contact with the family since the beginning of the incident and continues to support them during this difficult time," a statement by Netanyahu's office and Foreign Affairs Ministry read.
Was Iran behind the death of Rabbi Zvi Kogan?
Zvi Kogan is a member of the Chabad, a religious movement of Hasidic Jews. He had been missing since last Thursday before being found dead, with a few people accusing Iran of being either involved or linked to the case.
However, the Iranian Embassy in the UAE denied allegations of the country's involvement in the murder of Israeli emissary Zvi Kogan.
