Although the cause of the fire is still unknown at this moment, authorities believe that the bamboo scaffolding and green construction mesh may have helped spread the flames.

However, a new shocking video could change the investigation into the massive fire inside the apartment complex.

A clip was leaked on social media claiming to show a worker smoking a cigarette at the Wang Fu Court building, which houses over 2,000 apartments, moments before the fire erupted.

A person shared the clip on X and allegedly said, "Shocking new footage reveals workers were caught casually smoking while repairing the outer wall of Wang Fu Court, Tai Po in Hong Kong, moments before the entire building went up in flames."
