ALBAWABA - Violence erupted on Sunday night in Turkey's Kayseri city after reports that a Syrian national molested a 5-year-old girl, Turkish media revealed.
Videos emerged on social media showing Turks burning and attacking houses, shops and possessions of Syrians in the city following the reported news.
In one of the clips houses were seen on fire, meanwhile, in another footage, two men were seen attacking a motorcycle.
According to Turkiye Today, the violence erupted in the Melikgazi district of Kayseri after a Syrian national was detained over the molesting of a young child, a statement made by the governorate confirmed the news.
In the statement, it was announced that a Syrian abused a 5-year-old child and the person was arrested by authorities in the region.
Local media also revealed that security forces were dispatched to calm the angry people.
According to social media activists, many Syrians fleed their homes to mosques to be safe from attacks.
