ALBAWABA - During his recent interview with Elon Musk on X (formerly known as Twitter), former president and current presidential candidate Donald Trump pledged that he would close the education department and return it to the US.

Moreover, he expressed his concern over Federal Education and how this move could further improve the quality of education in several states that lack it. Trump's words sparked a debate on X with social media users either supporting the idea or being completely against it.

One person wrote, "I think the majority of the states would do a better job than a bloated Federal agency."

Another expressed how the Department of Education used to be great but dropped down in quality down the line calling it a "scam and a cruel one as well."

They shared their experience in 1977 and how it's nothing like it used to be.

"I've wanted the Dept. of Education to be abolished for DECADES. Public school is a blight on our children."

Donald Trump said in the interview, "Think about education...so we're ranked at the bottom of every list" following "Give education back to the 50 states," as he compared the US education system to China and Norway.

What Trump means by this is making the education system "one" in the US instead of every state having an independent system.
