ALBAWABA - Women's rights activist Masih Alinejad posted a video capturing a moment where Iranian teenage girls are being "violently attacked" by the country's morality police for head viel.
In the clip, two 14-year-old girls were seen in the streets trying to hide from the morality police car, but they were caught and "savagely attacked" in the middle of the street for not wearing hijabs.
Masih posted the footage and said: "Horror in Tehran: I am furious, outrage and heartbroken to see how 14-year-old teenagers being savagely attacked by the morality police for not covering their hair."
She added: "This video, released by a reformist website, coincides with the execution of a protester Reza Rasaei who stood against the murder of another girl Mahsa Amini by the morality police. The timing of this video’s release, while the execution goes unmentioned, has ignited anger among Iranians."
The video has reignited the story of Mahsa Amini, 22, who died three days after being attacked by the country's morality police on Sept. 16, 2022, igniting massive and nationwide protests.
Mahsa Amini's death sparked anger inside and outside. Women took to the streets to burn hijabs and cut their hair in protest of Iran's strict regulations against women and the compulsory hijab rule.
On Aug. 6, the Iranian authorities executed a man named Gholamreza Rassai after being convicted of stabbing a police officer to death in a 2022 nationwide protest over the death of Amini.
