ALBAWABA - A terrifying incident shook the Turkish community after a child was found after three days of searching, buried alive under huge rocks, local media in Turkey reported.
Search and rescue teams in Hatay province found a Syrian boy, 10, who had gone missing last Friday. Reports confirmed that the boy's uncle, Muhammet Eldavut, attacked him on the head and buried him alive, Haberler said on Monday.
The boy was identified as Amir A., and his uncle is accused of kidnapping and attempted murder after he was found placed under seven large rocks when a member of the search team heard a noise coming from under a pile of rocks.
The boy, who suffered head injuries, was taken to a hospital in Hatay for treatment as he was found in a miserable condition.
Amir underwent successful surgery, and he is now in intensive care and in stable condition. However, the incident caused widespread outrage among people in Turkey, who called for the toughest punishment against the uncle.
According to the investigators in Turkey, the boy's uncle struck him on the head with a rock and then buried him under the stones. But they gave no details regarding the motive of the crime.
The uncle was taken by the police, but he denied the accusations, claiming that the child fell from the tree while collecting pistachios, so he ran away in fear, denying that he had buried him.
It is worth mentioning that Amir lives with his family in the Kurtuluş neighborhood of Reyhanlı district.
