ALBAWABA - Deadly protests continue in Iran for the ninth consecutive day with rallies reported in 78 cities across 26 provinces, HRANA reported.
At least 19 protesters and one security force member have been killed since the start of the unrest, which has spread to 222 locations nationwide, with protesters roaming the streets of 78 cities across 26 provinces, HRANA added.
Iran International mentioned that the government has ordered the deployment of security forces in large numbers in several parts of the capital to disperse the people who staged protests against the deteriorating economic situation and the sharp fall of the Iranian Rial in the face of the Dollar.
On the other hand, U.S. President Donald Trump told reporters aboard Air Force One that Washington is following up with the situation in Iran "very closely". He said, "If they start killing people like they have in the past, I think they are going to get hit very hard by the United States."

A video went viral on social media showing a man who is wearing a police uniform burning the photo of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei amid ongoing protests in the country.

An X user posted the footage and wrote, "Video which claims to show a masked officer with the Police Command of the Islamic Republic of Iran burning a photograph of Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, before defacing a wall behind him with the words 'Javid Shah' (Long live the Shah)."
Nonetheless, a group of demonstrators also gathered in the city of Sari, in Mazandaran province, on Sunday, chanting slogans including "Long live the Shah (King)," according to a video sent to Iran International.
