ALBAWABA - The Islamic Republic of Iran recently made headlines after revealing an all-new underground base that reportedly contains dozens of missile launchers, according to RT and a video shared by the Iranian military on Saturday.

According to Naval Force Chief Rear Admiral Alireza Tangsiri, the underground tunnel which was labeled as the "Missile City," shelters Iran's Qadr 380 cruise missiles. Additionally, the missiles in question can travel up to 1,000 kilometers and are developed with anti-jamming systems.

RT reports that the underground city is located under the country's southern shores and was built to combat threats from the US and Israel. Major General Hossein Salami added on Saturday that the underground city was also built to prevent enemies (US and Israel) from "miscalculations" that would cause serious consequences.

This base is among two other similar facilities built in the country. Iran revealed the latter back in January and confirmed that one is an anti-ship missile base located at the Persian Gulf’s coastline while the other's location was not disclosed.
