ALBAWABA - An Algerian TikToker called "FobusTikTok" recently sparked outrage on social media after a video showcased him reading the Quran out loud inside a church in Strasbourg, France.

The four-minute video shared across several social media platforms was condemned by many Muslims and Christians alike, deeming it "disrespectful" and "unnecessary" towards the church and the religion. An Instagram user wrote, "So what is your opinion of me reading the Bible in a mosque?"

Another added, "What is this act of provocation? What is preventing you from doing this at your home or a mosque?"

The man wearing a white abaya went into the church and sat down at one of the benches going down the aisle, sat down, opened the Quran, and started reading loudly from it.

While reciting words from the Quran, the Algerian TikToker was stopped by an individual who approached him and said, "If I started filming myself reading the Bible in a mosque, you won't be happy either," after he told her that the verses talk about the mother of Jesus, Mary.

When the individual asked him to leave, the TikToker refused which caused a long heated debate between the two parties.

Several other social media users accused the TikToker of enticing hate towards Islam and trying to gain traction by filming himself doing something controversial like reciting the Quran in a church, knowing that it would spark a heated debate on the internet.
