Three Syrian journalists killed amid Aleppo offensive

ALBAWABA - Local Syrian news outlets reported that three journalists were killed in two days while covering intensive fighting between Syrian opposition groups and regime forces in northern Syria. 

According to sources, two journalists; Ahmad Al-Omar and Alaa Al-Abrash, were killed in an airstrike on the university hospital in Aleppo on Sunday. 

In addition, another journalist, named Mustafa Al-Sarout, was killed on Saturday in the Ashrafieh neighborhood in Aleppo. According to The New Arab, his car was subjected to gunshot allegedly by members of the Syrian regime forces while he was covering the events.

This comes amid news confirming that opposition fighters have fully taken control over Aleppo city in Syria including Aleppo International Airport which fell at the hands of the fighters on Saturday.

The opposition group announced in a statement an operation called "Deterrence of Aggression" against the Syrian regime. First, fighters began entering several towns and cities in the surrounding areas of Aleppo. Fighters were seen inside Aleppo with the latest they had taken control of the international airport.

On the other hand, as a response to the operation launched by the HTS group, the Syrian regime and Russia have launched airstrikes and attacks against opposition fighters in various cities and towns.
