ALBAWABA - Terrifying CCTV footage recently flooded social media, capturing the moment a dozen hydrogen-filled balloons caught fire inside an elevator in Mumbai, India.

A woman carrying luggage entered the elevator, following a man with a dozen balloons, when a chemical reaction suddenly occurred, causing the balloons to go up in flames. Since hydrogen balloons are highly flammable, authorities have warned locals against transporting them in enclosed spaces.

According to NDTV, both the man and the woman suffered burn injuries. However, both individuals escaped before things got worse. The Indian police revealed that a case has been filed against the balloon seller.

Last year, a similar case occurred during a Haldi ceremony in India, when a bride and groom suffered burn marks after a dozen hydrogen balloons exploded near them. A video of the incident flooded the internet after the couple shared it on their social media accounts.
