ALBAWABA - A school teacher located in Algeria is under fire across local social media after writing on a student's face for being "forgetful" as users including people, teachers, and specialists on the internet quickly condemned the teacher's actions.
The teacher wrote next to the student's ear, "Open page 96 in your Math notebook," due to him being a "forgetful student, and this is the only way to remind him and his parents to buy what he needs," as reported by Al Arabiya.

Moreover, it was the child's parents who claimed that it was the teacher behind the issue at hand as other internet users urged the government to investigate it further due to violating human rights laws.
Many also claimed it, insulting towards the student, his parents, and the teaching profession in general." Additionally, someone added that something similar to this incident happened in the country since schools are allegedly hiring university graduates instead of licensed teachers.
After speaking to Al Arabiya, Fathiya Basha who is an educational activist stressed that images like this could tarnish the reputation of the education institutes but the student's rights need to also be taken into account.
She added that a specific group of people need to be hired as teachers due to dealing with a sensitive group who are children.
