ALBAWABA - Sheikh Khaled Nabhan who is best known on social media among pro-Palestine users as "Abu Diaa" was recently killed in an Israeli airstrike targeting the Nuseirat refugee camp in Central Gaza, as reported by the Palestinian Media Center.
Pro-Palestine activists and social media users took to several platforms and mourned the death of Abu Diaa while offering their condolences to his loved ones.
Abu Diaa first gained recognition on social media after a video of him swarmed the internet, mourning the killing of his granddaughter, Reem during the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.

In the video, Sheikh Khaled Nabhan is seen holding his granddaughter in his arms as he strokes her hair and calls her in Arabic, "Rooh al-Rooh" (Soul of the soul). Like many Gazans, Abu Diaa stood his ground during the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza, making it clear that he will never leave his home.
After gaining traction across social media, Nabhan made headlines due to showcasing the resilience of the Gazan people despite facing constant bombardment from the Israeli military and suffering from the lack of necessary human aid including the lack of food, clean water, and shelter.
