ALBAWABA - A shopkeeper in Iran was arrested by authorities after appearing in a video dancing and singing.

A 70-year-old man, known to people as Sadegh Booghi, was taken by Iranian police after a video showing him dancing and singing in the middle of a fish market in Iran's Rasht city, however, his arrest triggered a massive anger in the country.

Iranian activists are now sharing their own videos dancing and singing to the same music the shopkeeper did before his arrest and the music is becoming viral.

Sadegh Booghi's Instagram account was closed by Iranian authorities, along with other pages which shared his video.

Many activists in Iran said that the man and dozens of influential figures who promoted the video were arrested, but the Iranian authorities denied the allegations.

The Police Public Relations Department in the northern province of Gilan said reports of arrests and store closures were "false," but it added without providing details: "People who violated the rules in cyberspace have been warned within the framework of the law."
