ALBAWABA - In an incident that shook the streets of the Moroccan city of Tangier, a young woman in a short skirt was subjected to mass harassment in the middle of the street while walking in a crowded area.
A video has sparked anger in Morocco after a young woman who was wearing a short skirt was harassed by a group of men, including some teenagers, at night in Tangier city.
The harassment incident, documented by a passerby, sparked widespread anger among activists who demanded justice and immediate accountability for those involved.
The footage showed the young woman walking alone when a group of young men, teenagers and children began verbally and physically harassing her.
Some of the harassers became more daring and approached her increasingly, trying to touch her, lift her short skirt and expose her body in a horrific scene. Although there were witnesses, they didn't intervene to help the woman.
The woman appeared scared, confused and helplessly trying to escape, however, she couldn't. Later on, a young man was able to take the girl away.
Moroccan media reported that a 13-year-old boy was arrested by security services in Tangier amid suspicion of his involvement in the mass harassment and investigations are still underway to arrest the rest of the people.
