ALBAWABA - Known as "Sea devil," Satellites captured the first-ever images of the secret unmanned submarine of the US Navy.
According to Newsweek magazine, the Sea devil submarine docked at the Port Hueneme Naval Base in California. The submarine was developed by American company Northrop Grumman.
The Manta Ray was seen for the first time after a recent satellite photo surfaced online, showing the machine produced for the American military.
What to know about the Manta Ray (Sea devil):
The high-tech unmanned watercraft, developed by Northrop Grumman, is part of an advanced maritime project that aims to create a new class of unmanned underwater vehicles capable of carrying out long-term missions without human intervention.
According to the media, the submarine was named "Manta Ray" which is derived from the "Manta Ray" fish (commonly known as 'Sea devil'), and it is equipped to support a wide range of marine missions.
The American company confirmed that the Manta Ray operates autonomously, eliminating the need for any human on-site logistics. It also features energy-saving capabilities that allow it to settle to the seafloor and “hibernate” in the event of low power.
