ALBAWABA - Austin Metcalf, a high school football player, was stabbed in his heart leading to his death during a track and field championship meeting on April 2 in Frisco, Texas, local media reported.
According to American police and family members, Austin Metcalf, 17, was stabbed after a seating dispute.
Metcalf is a junior at Memorial High School in Frisco ISD. He was stabbed to death by Karmelo Anthony, also 17, during the UIL District 11-5A championship meet at Kuykendall Stadium.
In detail, a verbal fight occurred between Metcalf and Anthony, who is from Centennial High School. The incident occurred around 10 a.m. (local time), Frisco police revealed.
The victim's twin brother, Hunter Metcalf, tried to save his brother and took him to hospital but he unfortunately died. "I looked at my brother and I’m not going to talk about the rest," he told WFAA.
The hashtag (RIP Austin) has gone viral in the United States following the horrific incident. Austin's latest post on social media also grabbed much attention as he wrote: "Faith that god got me and my work will pay off."
