ALBAWABA - A crime has shaken the Iraqi society after a little girl was found dead leaving unanswered questions about the reason behind her death. Was she raped and killed at the hands of her uncle or did the dog bite her to death?

Shahid's family claimed that stray dogs attacked her and tore apart her small body, however, Iraq's forensic medicine revealed the truth behind the little girl's death sparking anger and bringing calls for police to intervene in the case.

Medical examinations confirmed that the little Shahid from Najaf city in Iraq was raped by her uncle, her mother’s brother, confirming that he killed her to hide his horrific crime.

Moreover, the Iraq Feminist account on X rejected in a post the story told by the baby girl's family and confirmed the narrative said by doctors.

Shahid's picture circulated on social media along with the details of the incident, with comments indicating that the killer had torn the little girl’s body apart with knives without mercy.

The hashtag "#حق_طفلة_النجف (Justice for Najaf girl)" has been trending on social media with activists calling for the arrest of the rapist and the punishment of her family for trying to cover up the crime.
