Quran burner Salwan Momika 'found dead' inside his house in Norway

ALBAWABA - Iraqi refugee Salwan Momika was reportedly said to be "found dead" inside his house in Norway, unconfirmed reports emerge on social media.

Salwan Momika, who is well known to be a critic of Islam, had earlier arranged demonstrations in Sweden where he publicly burned the Quran. 

The Swedish government had earlier condemned the burning of the Quran, however, it stressed the importance of laws related to freedom of assembly and expression on its territory.

Salwan Momika left Sweden after his residency there was revoked after he sparked a wave of anger last year because he burned the holy Quran, and arrived in Norway, where he planned to apply for asylum.

However, many widely posted on X (formerly Twitter) that Quran burner Salwan Momika was killed inside his house in Norway.

A person posted: "Urgent...Some news sites started reporting that "Sloane Mumika" was found dead in an apartment in Norway. Is there any confirmation of the news?"

The hashtag "#SalwanMomikaDead" has been also trending on X with users saying that Salwan Momika was reportedly killed after he fled from Sweden to Norway on March 27. 

However, no official news was released to confirm or deny the rumors being spread online that Salwan Momika was found dead inside his house in Norway.
