ALBAWABA - A new statue of British royal Queen Elizabeth II has caused wide debate and divided opinions in the United Kingdom.
The newly placed sculpture, which was crafted by artist Anto Brennan, was heavily mocked by social media users as they said she looked like an urban old lady.
The statue of Queen Elizabeth II was uncovered in Antrim Castle Gardens in Ireland on Sept. 6, two days before the death anniversary of the UK's longest-serving monarch.
According to BBC, a statue of Prince Philip was already in the garden. It is with noting that the Deputy Mayor of Antrim and Newtownabbey Paul Dunlop was presented at the unveiling of the new Queen Elizabeth statue.

The placement now shows Queen Elizabeth II, Prince Philip and their dogs.
After the heavy backlash on Facebook, the Antrim and Newtownabbey Borough page closed the comment section.
An old comment reads: "Both need removed & melted down & redone. That’s actually offensive." Another person said: "It's actually an insult to Her Majesty's memory, looks nothing like her."

Furthermore, many people noticed that the outfit the Queen sculpture clothes looked nothing like the usual outfits the late Queen used to wear as she was known for her elegant taste. "What is this outfit. she was always so elegant?! Think you need to ask Temu for your money back," one said.
Nonetheless, many remembered a bronze sculpture of Cristiano Ronaldo which was also strongly mocked by fans who said it shows nothing of the football star's facial features.
