ALBAWABA - US Secretary of State Antony Blinken appeared in a new video from his Ukraine trip playing guitar and singing "Rocking to the Free World" triggering anger among Americans.
"It's better to spend money on Americans who are facing harsh living conditions," many social media users wrote upon Blinken's surprise visit to Kyiv.
Another X user said: "I would love an explanation as to why Anthony Blinken is currently PARTYING in Ukraine, a supposed warzone? Doesn’t look like a warzone to me! Where is our fucking money going?"
On the other hand, a comment read: "Secretary of State Anthony Blinken playing guitar in Ukraine while the world burns. We gave them $80 billion and he got a gig in a bar."
During his visit, a video circulated online of Blinken singing and playing guitar with a local band in a nightclub on May 14.
Blinken arrived in Kyiv on a trip reportedly designed to "send a strong signal of reassurance to the Ukrainians who are obviously in a very difficult moment."
The visit of Antony Blinken came weeks after US President Joe Biden agreed on a $60bn aid package for Ukraine amid continuous war with Russia which began on Feb. 24, 2022.
Blinken said: "The assistance is now on the way, some of it has already arrived and more of it will be arriving … And that’s going to make a real difference against the ongoing Russian aggression on the battlefield."
