ALBAWABA - Americans have been virally sharing Osama Bin Laden's infamous "Letter to America" on TikTok, 21 years after it was sent by Al-Qaeda Leader Bin Laden.
A TikTok user posted online saying she read Bin Laden's "Letter to America" in which Al-Qaeda head explained why he 'attacked' the United States back on 9/11/2001. The letter was shared a year after the Al-Qaeda attacks.
Many Americans have taken it online to express that they were shocked to read the letter and that they were extremely surprised to know that such a letter exists in the first place. "It is wild, everyone should read it and if you haven't please do," a person said.
Another woman on TikTok said: "I will never look at life the same, I will never look at this country again." She added that Bin Laden's "Letter to America" made her go through an existential crisis.
According to the Daily Veracity website, Osama Bin Laden's "Letter to America" addressed two prominent questions; the first was the reasons for their opposition to the US and their demands from the country.
In the two-page letter, Al-Qaeda leader, the mastermind behind the Sept. 11 attacks, mentioned the US role in the establishment and support of Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories, which he referred to as a significant injustice.
Osama Bin Laden wrote in the Letter to America: "The establishment and ongoing support of Israel represent a major injustice, and the US has been a key player in this wrongdoing. Those who have contributed to this act bear a heavy responsibility and must face serious consequences."
After the letter went viral on TikTok, 21 years after it was published, The Guardian which had a copy of Bin Laden's letter on the website quickly removed it.
The Guardian left a note after deleting the text: "Removed: document. This page previously displayed a document containing, in translation, the full text of Osama bin Laden’s “letter to the American people”, as reported in the Observer on Sunday 24 November 2002. The document, which was published here on the same day, was removed on 15 November 2023."
Days ago, a picture of an article by the British newspaper, The Independent in 1993 showcasing an article about Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden resurfaced online. In the article, Osama bin Laden was labeled as a "warrior and freedom fighter" against the Soviet Union and referred to him as part of the West and a "global Jihadi" against Russians.
