ALBAWABA - A photo of an old newspaper has gone viral on social media with the main front page headline reading: "The sun of freedom shines on Gaza".
Pro-Palestinian activists shared a picture of Al-Hayat al-Jadida newspaper (which means New Life) that dates back to 2005.
Al-Hayat al-Jadida is an official daily newspaper of the Palestinian National Authority and was first published in Gaza City in November 1994.
Researcher Hayat ElHariri posted a picture of the newspaper and wrote: "This title was in 2005. Perhaps the victory of Gaza and the beginning of the actual liberation of Palestine will come soon today."
In September 2005, Gazans were thrilled with victory as they celebrated the withdrawal of the latest Israeli soldier from the strip after over 38 years. Palestinian flags covered the streets of Gaza as people hit the streets to visualize ruins and damages left by Israeli forces.
This comes amid continuous Israel's ground invasion of the Gaza Strip which began on October 27.
Gaza’s health authorities revealed that at least 18,608 Palestinians have been killed and 50,594 injured in the Israeli attacks on Gaza since Oct. 7.
