ALBAWABA - Social media users are calling to boycott the famous world's leading internet television network, Netflix, over its support for Israel.

The boycott campaign comes amid Israeli airstrikes and ground operation in the Gaza Strip that killed over 11,000 people including more than 4,000 children.

Dozens of thousands of people have escaped their destroyed houses and escaped continuous bombardment to head from the north to the southern part of the city.

Pro-Palestinian activists since the start of the Israeli aggressive attacks against Gaza have urged to boycott all brands that support Israel whether directly or indirectly. Boycott campaigns were launched against many companies including McDonald's, Starbucks, HP and Puma.

Recently, a boycott campaign was launched against the Netflix platform after accusations of being "Truly Israeli." People began to delete their accounts and cancel their subscriptions to show support for Palestinians in Gaza.

The hashtag "#Boycott_Netflix" was also seen trending on X platform, formerly known as Twitter. A person wrote: "boycott Netflix for supporting Israel," meanwhile, another advocate said: "We cancelled our membership today as they announced officially that they support zionists."

Does Netflix support Israel:

A photo from the Netflix website also accompanied posts that call for the boycott of an article shared by the company with the title reading "NETFLIX IS NOW TRULY ISRAELI."

However, the article on Netflix dates back to 2017 and it was an announcement that the company has officially added a truly Israeli service and that it will start "using local language, currency and adding Israeli TV shows in addition to Netflix's critically-acclaimed original programming, now starting at ILS 29.9 per month."

Since the recent conflict with Israel, streaming service Netflix has not made any statement to show support for Israel nor it did post anything to condemn Israeli forces' attacks on the Gaza Strip.
