ALBAWABA - Controversy sparked in Morocco where people lashed out at Puma, the German multinational corporation, over the prices of the national football team’s products.

Moroccans took to social media to share their shock at the huge difference in prices of the national football team’s products on Puma's international website and the Moroccan website.

In detail, Moroccans said that the t-shirt of the national team is priced at 40 euros ($43.43) on Puma's international website, however, on Morocco's website the same item is priced at 1,100 Moroccan Dirham (MAD) which values at about ($110).

The difference between the items on Puma's international website and the Moroccan website has reached about $60 to $70, which caused wide controversy in Morocco where people wondered why the prices vary this much.

An expert in international trade and textile industries and a seller in the “Puma” store in the Kingdom explained to Hespress that Puma doesn't have any factory in Morocco which means that all the items it has are imported which means that products subject to Customs taxes, which leads to this difference in prices.

However, many Moroccans said that they are already boycotting the Puma brand over its previous support of the Israeli national football team, which Puma ended recently. "boycott is boycott," a person commented on social media.
