ALBAWABA - A young man from Beni Mellal, central Morocco, demonstrated in an unprecedented way by placing his disabled sister inside an iron cage.
Local media outlets posted footage of the protest on Monday, showing the disabled young woman placed inside a cage and surrounded by demonstrators supporting the young man and his sister.
The protest erupted after Moroccan authorities failed to respond to their request the "non-response" of the city's local authorities to his request and grant the girl a "kiosk" (small shop) to practice commercial activity.
Local Moroccan media Alyoum 24 confirmed that the demonstration took place in the "Qasr Aghzafat" neighborhood in the city of Beni Mellal, where the young woman, who suffers from a physical disability and uses a wheelchair, lives.
Her brother said in a statement to Alyoum 24 that he "works as a cleaner and cannot provide for his disabled sister."
He said that he had contacted the city authorities with requests for his sister to have a kiosk to practice a commercial activity that would enable her to provide for her needs and treatment expenses.
