ALBAWABA - Technology company Meta made headlines after firing a Palestinian American engineer who was accused of trying to solve "Bugs" suppressing news about the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza since Oct. 7, 2023.

As reported by Reuters, Meta which owns Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp was later sued by the same engineer mentioned above as he accused the company of deleting internal employee communications mentioning deaths of Gaza relatives and the use of the Palestinian flag emoji.

Moreover, Palestinian American Ferras Hamad who worked with Meta since 2021 said on Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2024, that the company is "biased" in handling news about the ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza which resulted in the killing and injuring of thousands of Palestinians.

Meta was sued over "discrimination and wrongful termination" in February 2023 in a California state court where the headquarters of the company is located.

According to the lawsuit made by Ferras, Meta didn't launch investigations about employees who shared the  Israeli or Ukrainian flag emojis in a similar manner which triggered the biased accusations made against it. Users across social media took to Ferras' side and expressed their opinions about the matter. Here's what some had to say:

"I hope they compensate him millions of dollars for this."

"Free Palestine, All Eyes on Rafah."

"Disgusting and greedy corporate."
