BBC reported that New York designer Adam Lippes crafted Melania's suit, in addition, the First Lady wore an eye-catching hat by Eric Javits. According to the British newspaper, the New York designer's dresses range between $1,227 to over $9,200.
Many netizens took it online to mock Melania Trump's outfit with a few labeling it as a "crime to fashion" especially when US President Donald Trump attempted to kiss his wife on the cheek but wasn't able to reach her due to the huge hat.
People began to compare Melania's look with international stars or movie characters, for instance, one X user posted a picture of Melania Trump next to movie character J. Robert Oppenheimer, played by Cillian Murphy, and wrote "Melania Oppenheimer".
