Marwan Issa, Hamas deputy commander, reportedly killed

ALBAWABA - Jewish media reportedly claimed that Israeli forces have killed Marwan Issa, deputy commander of Hamas' military wing, in airstrikes on Gaza.

According to unconfirmed reports that emerged, Marwan Issa, known as the "Shadow Man", has been allegedly assassinated in an airstrike on Nuseirat refugee camp.

Hebrew media revealed that the deputy commander of Al-Qassam Brigades was reportedly killed in an operation carried out by the Israeli forces, during which it intensified attacks on Nuseirat, in which the Hamas leader was believed to be.

Earlier, Israeli Army Radio said: "The Israeli army bombed a building in the Nuseirat camp in the central Gaza Strip, after receiving intelligence information about the presence of Marwan Issa, who is Mohammed Deif's deputy and the third man in Hamas, in it - Palestinian reports spoke of the death of 5 Palestinians and the injury of 9 others in the bombing."

No official reports or official statements were made by Hamas or the Israeli forces to confirm or deny the allegations circulating on social media regarding the assassination of Marwan Issa, deputy commander of Hamas' military wing.

About Marwan Issa:

Marwan Issa, the shadow man and right-hand man of Mohammed Deif, deputy commander-in-chief of the Martyr Izz al-Din al-Qassam Brigades and a member of the political and military bureau of the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas). 

He was born in 1965, and his efforts in developing the brigades constituted a real threat to Israel, which placed him on its most wanted list, Al Jazeera reported.

Israeli forces arrested him during the first Intifada and kept him in jail for 5 years (from 1987 to 1993), due to his political activities, which he started at an early age.

In 2006, The Israeli army attempted to assassinate him during a meeting of the General Staff along with Mohammed Deif and some main leaders of Al-Qassam Brigades, but Issa survived the attack and was only injured.
