ALBAWABA - A shocking footage has gone viral after a person was sucked into an aircraft engine on the taxiway at Milan Bergamo Airport in Italy on Tuesday morning.
Italina media reported on July 8, a 35-year-old Builder Andrea Russo, from the Calcinate county, in Bergamo, Lombardy, died after he was tragically sucked into Volotea plane engine of a moving plane on the runway at Bergamo Airport in Milan city.
The Italian authorities have opened an investigation into the case to determine the events that led up to this tragedy. "We are investigating on any possible relationships with the airport or the world of aeroplanes," said Italian Public Prosecutor Maurizio Romanelli.
The incident happened at approximately 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, Milan Bergamo Airport was forced to suspend all flights.
According to initial reports, the man was not a passenger or an airport staff member, but he was believed to have entered a restricted area at the airport without being authorized to.
Moreover, witnesses and local media reports suggested that the man had been pursued by police and ran toward the aircraft as it moved down the taxiway in preparation for takeoff before he was sucked into the engine and die.
