ALBAWABA - As Iranians are preparing to mark the death of Mahsa Amini, an Iranian woman who died in the custody of the country's morality police, authorities arrested her uncle Safa Aeli, reports said.
The uncle of Mahsa Amini was arrested by the Iranian police over a week before the death anniversary of the Iranian woman who became the icon of the latest protests in Iran.
The Kurdish-focused Hengaw rights group was one of the first to report the arrest of Safa Aeli, 30, saying he was taken by security forces in the family’s hometown of Saqez in western Iran and they took him to an unknown location.
France-based Kurdistan Human Rights Network and the 1500tasvir protest monitor also confirmed the Mahsa Amini's uncle's arrest news in separate statements.
Nevertheless, Iran continues to crack down on people who protested the regime in the country and relatives of activists who died protesting the death of Mahsa Amini.
1500tasvir posted: "A few hours ago, Ahmad Hassanzadeh and Solmaz Hassanzadeh, the father and sister of Mohammad Hassanzadeh, whom the Islamic Republic killed in 2022, were arrested."

Mahsa Amini was arrested for wearing an "inappropriate hijab" on Sept. 13, 2022, in the capital Tehran by Iranian security forces who were reported to have attacked the 22-year-old activist leading her to a coma and then her family announced her death three days after her arrest.
The death of Mahsa Amini has triggered violent protests in Tehran and many cities in the Islamic Republic as activists and women's rights advocates burnt hijabs and cut their hair in protest of compulsory hijab rule in Iran.
