ALBAWABA - A 15-year-old student recently made headlines after opening fire at a private Christian school named 'Abundant Life Christian School' located in Madison City, Wisconsin killing at least two individuals and injuring six.
According to Madison Police Chief Shon Barnes, the suspect was allegedly identified as 15-year-old student Natalie Rupnow, who goes by the name "Samantha." The police later confirmed that Rupnow died after inflicting a gunshot wound on herself.
Madison Christian School shooter identified
Her motive remains unclear but according to an investigation, Rupnow has been going through some problems and was expressing them in the form of writing. Moreover, the police are working hand in hand with the shooter's family, as reported by CNN.
On the other hand, authorities didn't reveal the identity of the victims. The shooting resulted in the killing of one student and one teacher. In addition, among the six injured, two are suffering from life-threatening conditions but are stable.
According to CNN, a second-grade student made the 911 call to report the tragic shooting incident. Authorities are still investigating how a 15-year-old girl managed to get her hands on a handgun.
Just before the incident, Abundant Life Christian School students had active shooting training with the Madison Police to understand what to and what not to do when a similar situation occurs.
US President Joe Biden responds
After hearing of the incident, US President Joe Biden issued a statement calling for gun control and demanding Congress to react now. The president received backlash since he recently dismissed his son Hunter Biden who had felony gun charges pressed against him.
