ALBAWABA - Less people are now buying dates from the famous Aldi stores in the United Kingdom, the chain has decided to deceive buyers to get rid of piles of boxes.

A video went viral on social media and was circulated by activists and Pro-Palestinians who uncovered the trick made by Aldi stores to increase date sales.

A man was heard in the circulated video saying: "Now that everyone knows that Aldi is selling Israeli dates, so again there's a lot of stock, but something has changed."

The activist posted the video as he turned the date box to check where it was made and he was shocked. "Made in South Africa," the box read.

The activist said that he didn't believe that the dates were made in South Africa so he went to check the bar code of the product and he was shocked to see they were made in Israel.

According to details, the producing country name was changed from Israel to South Africa to deceive buyers into thinking they were South African.
