ALBAWABA - In a horrifying incident that set the internet ablaze, a Kurdish woman who miraculously escaped prison in Iran's Kurdistan claims to have been brutally tortured and gang-raped by Iranian military personnel, amid being arrested due to participating in the 2022 Mahsa Amini protests.

According to Al Hurra, the Kurdish-Iranian woman in question is Britain, she currently resides in Iraq's Kurdistan and says that memories from the time she got tortured and sexually assaulted haunt her at night, further affecting her sleep due to daily nightmares.

She was arrested and taken into interrogation back in September 2022 after part of her veil fell off during the Mahsa Amini protests.

Despite being released after questioning, Iran's intelligence forces stormed Britain's house a year later and arrested her.  She was transferred and held at a prison in Urmia, the largest city in West Azerbaijan which also happens to be a province of Iran.

During her time there, the 27-year-old woman says that she was subjected to several means of torture, including beatings, electric shocks, suffocation, and drowning.

They also threatened to jail her parents every time they interrogated her over fabricating charges and caused further mental strain by isolating her in a room for a week. Britain claims that they would then carry on with torturing her, but make it appear that she got in a prison fight instead.

She was also continuously raped every time she got tortured. Britain added that she finds it very difficult to block images of the incident from her head.

After countless attempts of bail, Britain's family finally managed to bail her out on temporary release. She was told by her lawyer that the police would re-arrest her and sentence her to life in Evan prison (One of Iran's most notorious prisons).

Upon hearing about the news, Britain fled the country to Iraq's Kurdistan with her mother but stated that she now lives in constant fear of being captured by the Iranian regime again.

Britain added that she wasn't the only one subjected to the horrors mentioned above, as her inmates also suffered the same fate.
