ALBAWABA - A video went viral on social media showing a Korean tourist being harassed while having a visit to an ancient place in Egypt.
According to some social media users, a Korean tourist was seen in a clip near an old, historic mosque with a shrine and cemetery next to it. When a man came and started to harass him.
Many activists said that this video is likely to negatively affect tourism in Egypt and asked Egyptian authorities to investigate the incident and take strong action against the man in the video.

After the video of the Korean tourist went viral on social media, the Interior Ministry in Egypt released a clarification on its official Facebook account.
In a statement, the ministry said: "The video that was circulated on several pages affiliated with the "terrorist Brotherhood" on social networking sites regarding a Korean tourist being subjected to an attempted harassment by someone in an old archaeological tomb area was previously circulated in 2022."
The statement also cleared that in April 2022, the Korean man submitted a report to the Manshiyet Nasser Police Department in Cairo, during which he was harmed by a person for trying to harass him in the Qaitbay Cemetery area.
Egypt confirmed arresting the man in the clip and sentencing him to 5 years in jail.
