ALBAWABA - Britons were shocked to hear a local radio station announce "the passing of King Charles III". However, it was a mistake by an employee.
The British media regulator Ofcom acknowledged that Radio Caroline had violated broadcasting rules after it accidentally aired an obituary for King Charles.
According to the BBC, the British radio station reportedly aired the obituary for King Charles by accident on May 19 during technical work in the studio.
In detail, an employee, out of curiosity, opened pre-prepared files intended for the monarch’s death, after which he escaped as he was panicked by what he had done.
The announcement of the British king's death was aired three times; after that, the national anthem was played.
A retraction and apology by Radio Caroline were issued half an hour after the incident, triggering controversy in the United Kingdom.
