Israel plans to detain Greta Thunberg in a 'terror cell'

ALBAWABA - Israeli authorities are reportedly planning to detain Swedish activist Greta Thunberg amid her departure to Gaza from Barcelona under the Global Sumud Flotilla.

Thunberg is now sailing towards Gaza alongside fellow activists from 44 countries, in hopes of breaking the Israeli blockade and letting in humanitarian aid into the Strip. 

Among the activists on board are Swedish climate campaigner Greta Thunberg, activist and former Mayor of Barcelona Ada Colau, Irish actor Liam Cunningham, Irish politician Paul Murphy, Brazilian activist Thiago Ávila, and many more, such as figures from the European Parliament.

Thunberg is attempting to break the siege in Gaza for the second time. Now sailing towards Gaza on board Sumud Flotilla, the Swedish activist's first humanitarian act was on board "Madleen" Flotilla, whose journey was also cut short by Israel.

According to The Telegraph, Israel’s far-right national security minister, Itamar Ben-Gvir is planning to present Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu with a plan to detain Greta Thunberg in harsh "terrorist-level" conditions inside Ktzi’ot and Damon detention centres for females.

Israel Hayom revealed that individuals close to Ben-Gvir said, "Following several weeks at Ktzi’ot and Damon, they’ll be sorry about the time they arrived here. We must eliminate their appetite for another attempt."

The ongoing Israeli aggression on Gaza has resulted in the killing of more than 63,000 Palestinians and has left at least 156,000 injured since Oct. 7, 2023.

According to Middle East Monitor, more than 332 people have died because of the ongoing famine, including 127 children.
