ALBAWABA - The official X account of the State of Israel, which is run by the Foreign Ministry team, has sparked fury after misinforming the birthplace of Jesus.

On Sunday, following Hezbollah rockets that fell in Haifa and Nazareth, the Israel X account posted on the platform a video showing fire after the Lebanese group's rocket in the city.

Israel's previous caption on the post: "Nazareth, the birthplace of Jesus, is under attack by Hezbollah.

The Israeli town, also known as 'the Arab capital of Israel,' has a population that is around 70% Muslim and 30% Christian."

Christians lashed out at Israel and corrected their wrong information stressing that according to the Bible, Jesus was born in Bethlehem and not Nazareth.

Following the heavy backlash, Israel's X account corrected the information and edited the post saying "Nazareth, the hometown of Jesus, is under attack by Hezbollah".

Hezbollah targeted Israel on Sunday morning using Fadi 1 and Fadi 2 missiles, which are new kinds of rockets that were never used before targeting the Ramat David airbase, southeast of Haifa.

The rockets came in response to the Israeli attack on Friday, September 20, that hit a building hosting a Hezbollah meeting and killed the top commander in the Radwan Force Unit, Ibrahim Akil.

The Lebanese Ministry of Health added that 45 people were killed in the Israeli airstrike and about 60 others were injured.
