ALBAWABA - A British MP named Shockat Adam was recently denied entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque from an Israel-controlled gate while his colleagues passed. When asked, the Israeli settlers told Adam that he was denied entry because he's Muslim, as reported by The Middle East Eye.
Adam arrived in occupied Palestine, Israel, on April 13, visiting many cities such as Bethlehem, Jerusalem, Hebron, and Tulkarm. Last Thursday, the independent MP for Leicester South visited Al-Aqsa Mosque, but upon his entry, Israeli settlers blocked him off due to his religion.
Adam told the Middle East Eye, "My colleagues were let through." He added, "An Israeli settler asked me my faith. I said I was a Muslim. He said I wasn't allowed through."
Israel denies British MP entry to Al-Aqsa Mosque
In a press briefing in London, Adam said that he visited Al-Aqsa Mosque four times, claiming that with every visit, the number of Israeli settlers increased. He added that they were dancing and singing to celebrate the hopes of building a Jewish temple instead of the mosque.
To solidify his claims, a recently shared AI video showcased Al-Aqsa Mosque getting destroyed with a Jewish Temple rising on top of it. The footage sparked outrage among pro-Palestine activists and Muslims since Al-Aqsa Mosque is considered a holy place in Islam.
Adam also added that not only are Muslims treated horribly by settlers, but Christians as well, whom he witnessed getting spat on.
While the Israeli government claims that it's prohibited for settlers to pray at the Al-Aqsa Mosque, several individuals, including ones with ties to PM Benjamin Netanyahu, have repeatedly entered the mosque's premises to pray.
