Iraqi police accused of shooting 16-year-old boy twice in head

ALBAWABA - A 16-year-old Iraqi boy was shot dead and his family is accusing a police officer in Baghdad while he was back from a football match with his friends.

According to Iraqi media, a teenager in Iraq was shot twice in the head at 8:00 p.m. (local time) on Oct, 8,  in the Sheikh Omar area of ​​Baghdad.

The Rudaw Arabia website reported that the 16-year-old Iraqi boy was named Mohammed Osama, and he was killed while on his motorcycle.

Mohammed's mother is still in shock and unable to speak while his father confirmed to the media that authorities asked the victim's family to quickly bury him amid accusations that the police were involved in this horrific crime.

The young man's family said that Mohammed Osama was returning from a football match with his friend when the emergency police tried to stop them, and then allegedly opened fire on them.

Mohammed died instantly, while his friend, who was also shot in the head, is receiving treatment in intensive care in a hospital in Baghdad.

The Iraqi government is accused of trying to hide the crime as according to Rudaw agency, the death certificate indicates that Mohammed died of his gun wounds, a source in the Rusafa police in Baghdad claimed that the two young men were not shot, but rather fled from the police, their motorcycle skidded and they fell to the ground leading to their death.
