Iraq's Interior Ministry confirmed that the authorities went with the arrests on Tuesday, Jun. 4, 2024, and also added that many Iraqi people across the country are calling for the boycott of similar US fast-food chains that allegedly support Israel's occupation of Palestine including McDonald's, Burger King, KFC and many more.

According to the Middle East Eye, Monday's attack was triggered after an Iraqi military group named Kataeb Hezbollah called for its supporters to "boycott and expel" US brands. Moreover, the armed group added that these specific brands are "Spies" for Israel.

As reported by AFP, an unknown security source claimed that around 13 individuals were arrested in the aftermath of the attack.
