ALBAWABA - Social media platforms have been buzzing during the past few hours after allegations that an Iranian diplomat mysteriously faded away shortly after arriving in Egypt's Cairo Airport.

According to activists online, Iranian diplomat Amir Mousawi reportedly disappeared mysteriously shortly after arriving at Cairo Airport, as he came to Egypt on an official invitation.

It all started when the official page of Al-Mosawi allegedly posted on X, "The disappearance of journalist Amir Mousawi at Cairo Airport after arriving on an official invitation!" adding, "An absence that raises major question marks about his safety, and urgent demands to uncover the truth immediately."

Some unconfirmed reports revealed that "Amir Mousawi had entered the country normally before contact with him was suddenly cut off," which raised concerns about his fate and prompted human rights activists to issue urgent appeals to Egyptian officials to move quickly to investigate what happened with him.

On the other hand, Iraqi Journalist Najah Mohammed Ali posted a photo of the Iranian diplomat and wrote: "Brother Amir Mousawi is fine".

Amid uncertainty regarding his fate or what has happened to the Iranian diplomat, so far, no official statement has been issued by the Egyptian authorities to address the allegations.
