ALBAWABA - Iran is the talk of social media among internet users after a video circulated showcasing several fortune tellers swarming a city in the country, and reportedly getting paid by customers through visa card machines for their "palm reading" skills.

The video in question had several Iranian women (fortune tellers) from Iran sitting next to each other with some kind of cloth to aid them with their "palm reading" skills for customers who ask for it. Moreover, several were conversing with their customers while holding a visa card machine and asking for payment.

The video doesn't showcase the exact city where these questionable practices are taking place but an Algerian tourist was the one to share it as it went viral.

What is palm reading?

Palm reading is an untrusted "spiritual" practice used by women in different countries across the globe which interprets a person's character or is also known to "predict" that person's future through reading their palm.

In the Middle East and African-Arab countries, practices like this are linked to "Black Magic" and could be linked to evil including relationships with bad demons and devils.

Instagram users took to a post made by Blinx Live and "med.chou" (the Algerian tourist) and stated their opinions about the issue at hand. Here's what they had to say:

"Only Allah knows the unseen, He has no partner."

"I hope to God, that Doomsday comes soon."

"Okay, but this happens everywhere, it's because they hate Iran, I am not defending them, but for justice, it is normal, these things exist in all countries."
