ALBAWABA - A Mexican influencer was shot dead while livestreaming on TikTok, while a video of the incident went viral on social media, causing panic among her fans.
Mexico's state prosecutor's office said that Valeria Marquez, 23, was killed when a man entered her beauty salon in Guadalajara city, and "fired a gun at her".
The motive for the deadly shooting is still unknown, Mexican authorities revealed. However, an investigation suggested the case could be regarded as a femicide (killing based on gender), the Jalisco state prosecutor's office further mentioned regarding the crime.

Footage went viral on social media showing Valeria Marquez, who is followed by around 200,000 people on TikTok and Instagram, sitting at a table holding a stuffed animal at her beauty salon in the suburb of Zapopan while doing a livestream on the TikTok app.
After she was shot, another person closed the livestream after taking the phone. The crime has caused a wide echo online, with fans calling for strict punishment against the perpetrator.
Some websites in Mexico revealed that a man convinced the TikToker that he wanted to get her a gift, and suddenly opened fire, leading to her death.
Police arrived at the scene around 18:30 local time and confirmed the Mexican influencer's death, while the name of the attacker was unrevealed by Mexican authorities.
