Local authorities further added that necessary measures will be implemented to prevent the reoccurrence of such life-threatening incidents by replacing quarter-ton vehicles with more suitable ones.

According to Al Arabiya, Minya's governor previously issued a statement banning pickup trucks from driving inside the city's highways and desert roads in hopes of preventing further accidents. He also introduced a new law allowing the licensing of micro-buses to transport workers instead of quarter-ton trucks due to the lack of safety measures.

In addition, the governor also ordered providing all the support and assistance to the victims' families and stressed completing the necessary procedures as soon as possible. This all comes in after the city has witnessed repeated truck accidents.
