Horrific video: Children tortured in Ankara religious school in Turkey

ALBAWABA - A Video captured by surveillance cameras at a religious school in the center of Turkey's Ankara caused wide debate and criticism on social media.

The video captures hard moments of children being tortured in an Ankara religious school in the Turkish capital Ankara. Kids are only allowed to leave for two days on the weekend.

In detail, clerics were seen beating children in a boarding school belonging to the Ismail Aga group, which is close to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and his ruling Justice and Development Party, which sparked angry reactions in the Turkish community, according to Alarabiya.

The footage caused wide controversy on social media pushing human rights activists in Turkey to call for punishment for people who appeared torturing kids in the religious school.

Especially since the video clip was followed by horrific testimonies from students at that school. Many posted on social media calling Turkish authorities to close the religious school as soon as possible. 

Furthermore, two children from that religious school confirmed that they "were treated like dogs, as the teachers used to beat them and their classmates when eating, as well as when receiving religious education, and during prayer times as well," according to what was reported by the famous T24 website.
