ALBAWABA - German news outlet Die Welt went viral across social media after reportedly showcasing gameplay from the FPS game 'Call of Duty' as Ukraine attack footage amid the ongoing conflict between the country and Russia.
Debate swarmed X (formerly known as Twitter) about whether the footage was real or not.
On the other hand, users claimed that the footage in question isn't Call of Duty gameplay, but a real clip first shared on YouTube under the title "Azov storms and clears enemy positions. Destruction of occupiers from the first person," by Ukrainian media outlet of resistance army Azov three months ago.

The news anchor was heard narrating the events of the clip in German as he claimed that it was taken by the Azov Ukrainian resistance army at a forest in the Pokrovsk area where Russian soldiers advanced.
One user wrote, "But this is not true, it's a real AZOV video" while linking the video in the reply section.
Another added, "This does look like genuine footage and not a Call of Duty game to me (I play cod and nothing looked like this)".
Azov claims in the video description that a GoPro was used to take the clip in question. Furthermore, the outlet added that all Russian soldiers in the clip were "eliminated".
The video might've sparked debate on whether the footage was from a game or not because of its first-person camera angle which many game developers implement in their games such as Call of Duty and Battlefield.
